MATCH REVIEW
Balti House
FC 3 Child Oakford 2
This exciting
Division Two match was a good advert for Dorset
football. Both teams played good open football
on a good surface.
Balti took
the lead after 10 minutes through Marco Nott who
rose above the home defence to head home a Craig
de Marco free kick.
Balti went further
ahead when full back Danny Sanders made a good
run onto a Ross Walker through ball and fired
into the roof of the net.
Balti’s defence came
under intense pressure after the interval which
led to the hosts scoring a close range header
from a corner. Talented Balti keeper Andy Nott
made two good saves to keep his side in front
and when the home side were awarded a penalty
the keeper made a brilliant save.
The hosts deservedly
scored an equaliser with 25 minutes remaining.
After this Balti, with strikers Walker and Adam
Sargent causing problems for the home defence
and captain Craig Knock urging his team forward,
scored the goal of the game when Ben Stanton’s
corner was only partially cleared and fell to
Craig de Marco who coolly volleyed over the
keeper and found the top corner of the net.

MATCH REVIEW
Balti House FC 3
Wyke Social 0
Balti House FC got quickly back to
winning ways after their 1-0 defeat to mid week Upwey &
Broadwey in this local derby against Wyke Social at
Budmouth.
Balti dominated play for much of the
first half and went ahead through a Ross Walker strike.
Balti were unlucky when a scorching long range effort
from Marco Nott hit the underside of the bar before
bouncing to safety. Wyke almost levelled when Tom
Lane’s shot hit the Balti bar as Wyke counter attacked
late in the half.
Balti started the second half
brightly and dominated mid-field with Marco Nott and
Craig Knock outstanding and it came as no surprise when
after skilful play from Adam Sargent, Ben Stanton put
the Balti further in front. After this Wyke came back
and attacked strongly only to find the Balti back three
of Paul Hedges, Andy Roper and Jimmy Symonds in good
form and with the capable Andy Nott once again showing
good handling skills in the Balti goal. Wyke’s chances
were kept to a minimum.
Balti went further in front when
Craig de Marco and the hard working Sargent opened up
the Wyke defence for Ross Walker to race in and fire
into the top corner of the net giving the home keeper no
chance.
After this good Tenma performance
Balti can go into their next game at Child Okeford with
confidence.

MATCH REVIEW Balti House FC
2 Chickerell United 1
Spectators at this Division Two Dorset game at
Chickerell could not have been disappointed with the
entertainment served up by the players of both teams in
this exciting game refereed excellently by Royston
Mitchell of Portland.
Balti
opened the game brightly and after good play from
striker Adam Sargent, Damien Evans out-paced the
Chickerell defender to open the scoring for Balti.
Balti,
with mid fielders Ross Walker and Craig Knock both
outstanding went further ahead when the quick thinking
Craig de Marco fired in a quickly taken free kick which
caught out the Chickerell defence and keeper.
Chickerell
with Dan Coltart prompting well from mid field took the
game to the Balti in the last ten minutes of the first
half and forced Balti keeper Andy Nott to make an
excellent double save. The talented keeper first palmed
out a close range shot and when the rebound was fired
in, managed to save with his feet to keep Balti 2-0 up
at the interval.
Chickerell
came out fighting for the second period but found the
Balti back four of Andy Roper, Marco Nott, Jimmy Symonds
and Paul Hedges hard to break down with Ben Stanton
helping out his defence with some unselfish running.
Young keeper Nott once again frustrated Chickerell when
he raced from his goal line to dive at the feet of
oncoming Coltart.
Chickerell
finally got the goal their attacking play deserved
through Coltart when he fired home after a goal mouth
scramble. Having weathered the storm, Balti once again
began to mount attacks of their own and when man of the
match Sargent was brought down in the Chickerell box
with ten minutes remaining, Evans stepped up to strike
the ball hard from the spot kick but Chickens’ keeper
Joss Houghton made a good save to keep this exciting
match on a knife-edge.
Balti
played out the last part of the game in their opponents’
half to gain a hard fought victory.

Balti House FC 2
Handley Sports 1
Balti took an early lead through
midfielder Ross Walker in this Dorset Division 2
encounter on a well groomed surface at Handley.
Although dominating the first 30 minutes,
Balti failed to add to their tally.
The home side attacked strongly in the
second half and deservedly drew level with 20 minutes
remaining.
Balti attacked relentlessly but a mixture
of good goalkeeping and poor finishing kept the scores
level until the last minute when striker Damien Evans,
back in the side after injury, pounced to score the
winner for Balti, forcing the ball home during a goal
mouth scramble, to give Balti victory.

1
On a very heavy playing surface, Balti
dominated the first half proceedings of this Dorset
Division II encounter at Redlands.
With Craig Knock and Ross
Walker running things in mid-field it came as no
surprise when Craig De Marco put Balti in front
after 25 minutes when he hit a scoring shot from well
inside the box that Wyke keeper no chance.
This was quickly followed by another fine
goal again from outside of the box driven home by
striker Gareth Jones.
Wyke came out fighting in the second half
and took the game to the Balti. They deservedly scored
a consolation goal with 20 minutes remaining.
Balti maintained their attack near the
end of the game and Wyke were unlucky when one of their
defenders headed past his own keeper to give Balti the
comfort of another goal and victory.

MATCH REVIEW
Balti
House FC 2 Sturminster Marshall
1
Balti came out on top in this bruising
Dorset Division 2 match at Sturminster Marshall.
Both teams tried to play good football
but on a heavy surface this was not easy. Adam
Sargent went close early on for Balti but when the
home side attacked it took a super save from Andy
Nott who dived full lengths to push the ball around
the post.
Balti took the lead through defender
Marco Nott who out jumped the home defence to nod in
a Sargent corner. Balti then suffered a setback when
their lively mid-fielder Sean Williams fell
awkwardly in the visitor’s box and took no further part
in the game.
Balti had to make a further change when
Sargent limped off with a foot injury only 5 minutes
into the second period.
The home side attacked strongly and
forced keeper Nott to make two brilliant saves. Balti
with the tireless Ross Walker outstanding in mid
field and Marco Nott defending brilliantly in the heart
of defence went further in front when Danny Sanders
made a good run down the right and centred for Ben
Stanton to drive home Balti’s second.
The home side now attacked relentlessly
and with ten minutes left narrowed the gap with a
volleyed effort following a short corner kick.
Balti almost scored again when new
signing Andy Mallet’s drive was diverted wide by
a defender. Balti were forced to defend for the last
ten minutes of the game but held on to take a hard
earned victory.

MATCH REVIEW
Balti
House FC 1 AFC Bluebridge
0
Balti House
overcame Dorset Division One side AFC Bluebridge by a
solitary goal mid way through the second; well taken by
mid fielder Sean Williams.
Balti dominated the first half with the
mid field of Craig de Marco, Williams, Craig Knock
and
Ben Stanton working tirelessly and out-fighting their
opponents.
Adam Sargent and Gareth Jones worked hard
up front but few chances came their way. Just before
the break, the visitors almost scored when from close
range one of their attackers drove the ball towards goal
but talented Balti keeper Andy Nott made a great diving
save to keep the score 0-0 at half time.
AFC Bluebridge attacked strongly in the
first 15 minutes after the interval but the Balti
defence of Ross Walker, Danny Sanders, Marco Nott and
Jimmy Symonds held firm.
Balti slowly began to dominate play again
and took the lead when the tireless Williams scored from
close range.
Balti almost scored again after this when
Sargent ran through the visitor’s defence but shot just
wide. Balti kept the ball well and thwarted the odd
visitor’s attack with Marco Nott in the centre of
defence winning everything in the air. The Balti were
nearly caught out near the end when a powerful snap shot
from visitors forward was again well saved by keeper
Nott.
This was a good team performance by the
Balti who will now entertain Dorset Knob FC in the
semi-final.

MATCH REVIEW
Balti House FC 4
Poundbury 2
Balti House continued their recent unbeaten run taking 3
points from this exciting Dorset 2 encounter with old
rivals Poundbury.
Both teams played good open football but good defending
by both sides kept goal mouth incidents to a minimum.
With 25 minutes gone Balti front man Damien Evans
pulled a hamstring and was replaced by Gareth Jones
who with almost his first kick put the Balti in front.
After the interval Poundbury got back on form when a
midfield player netted from 20 yards with a good dive.
After this Balti quickly regained the lead when their
skilful striker Adam Sargent fired home a free
kick from the edge of the box.
Quickly Balti added to their lead when strong defender
Marco Nott netted with a shot just inside
Poundbury's half which completely deceived Poundbury's
keeper.
Nott went from hero to villain within minutes when he
brought down a Poundbury player inside the box - for
Poundbury's Beasley to net from the spot kick.
Poundbury now attacked strongly forcing home keeper
Andy Nott to make some good saves, from one shot
Balti full-back Ross Walker cleared off the line.
Balti weathered the storm and in the last 10 minutes
played most of the game in their opponents' half.
Gareth Jones rounded off a good performance when he set
up Ben Stanton to finish the game off for Balti with a
good strike.
There were also good performances for Balti from
full-back Danny Sanders, midfielders Craig
Knock and Sean Williams. Jimmy
Symonds also played very well in his sweepers role.

MATCH REVIEW
Balti House FC 1
The White Horse 0
A Ben
Stanton goal halfway through the first half sealed
this Dorset Intermediate Cup victory for Balti House.
In a
sparkling game, both teams played good football.
Balti’s
short passing game was a feature of the first half and
it came as no surprise when the lively mid-fielder
Craig de Marco with a clever flick set-up found
Stanton who volleyed home from 12 yards to give Balti a
well deserved lead.
The White
Horse attacked strongly early in the second half but
rarely troubled home keeper Andy Nott who was
well protected by the Balti defence in which the game’s
outstanding player Marco Nott was well supported
by fellow defenders Jimmy Symonds, Ross Walker
and Danny Sanders.
In the
closing stages, Balti kept the ball well with the
skilful Adam Sargent holding the ball well up
front. Balti created more chances and confidently
finished the game well in control.
This was a
great advert for amateur football in which the referee
had a good game and the players from both sides played
hard but fair in a sporting atmosphere.

Chickerell United 2
Balti
House defender Marco Nott scored a last minute
equaliser to help his side to a deserved share of the
points with leaders Chickerell United in this Division 2
Dorset encounter at a wet and windy Redlands.
Although
having most of the possession in the first half, Balti
failed to test Vaughn Carter, the Chickens keeper. Late
in the first half against the run of play, Chickerell
could have taken the lead when a close range effort was
saved by the talented Balti keeper Andy Nott.
After the
interval, Balti dominated but were unable to get the
goal their efforts deserved. With 25 minutes remaining,
Chickerell substitute Josh Houghton put them ahead with
a well taken goal in a Chickerell break away.
10 minutes
later Balti striker Damien Evans levelled the
scores but within minutes Houghton scored again for the
Chickens what seemed to be the winner. Balti attacked
strongly pushing their oustanding defender Nott up front
and in the last minute he levelled matters when he
lashed home a great left foot volley which no keeper
would have saved. This gave Balti a much deserved share
of the points.
In a great
team performance, Balti’s hard working mid-field of
Craig de Marco, Craig Knock, Paul Aston and Ben
Stanton were outstanding.

football in this division 2 encounter at Crossways.
Crossways went close early on with a good effort from
the lively Beasley which was well saved by Balti keeper

lively Damien Evans causing havoc up front, the
Balti finished the first half the stronger.
Balti
attacked strongly in the second half and forced the home
keeper to make several good saves. Crossways threatened
on the break but found the Balti back four of Ross
Walker, Marco Nott, Jimmy Symonds and Danny

Eventually
Balti scored through Evans and with 20 minutes left, the
same player added a second when he slotted home a good

Sturminster Marshall 3
The Balti
House will rue their many missed chances in this
exciting Division 2 Dorset encounter.
Sturminster Marshall started the game brightly and
dominated for the first 30 minutes. After this the
Balti with Paul Aston pulling the strings in mid field,
finished the half looking the stronger.
Sturminster shook the Balti with two quick goals in the
second half – the second from a disputed penalty.
After this
the Balti attacked strongly and tested the visitors’
keeper who made two fine saves but was finally beaten by
Damien Evans. This goal was quickly followed by a second
from Adam Sargent who volleyed in a pass from Ben
Stanton.
Balti
pressed hard for the winner but were caught on the break
with three minutes to go and so all three points went to
Sturminster Marshall.
Balti face
Crossways this coming Saturday and must hope to improve
on recent results if they are to have any chance of a
top spot in Division 2.

Puddletown attacked strongly in the early stages but the

In the

MATCH REVIEW
Balti House FC 3
Crossways 2
Balti
House came out on top in this very close Division 2
match at Redlands when they beat league leaders
Crossways by the odd goal in five.
With
the wind in their favour, the visitors attacked strongly
but found the Balti back 4 of Danny Sanders, Marco
Nott, Jimmy Symonds and Paul Hedges in good form.
While behind them, goalkeeper Andy Nott was
outstanding, making a great reflex save from point blank
range to keep the scores level at the break.
After
the break, Balti played good football with hard working
striker Adam Sargent giving the Crossways defence
a hard time with some strong running and skillful
touches.
Balti
deservedly took the lead through whole hearted
mid-fielder Sean Williams who smashed the ball
home from 15 yards only for Crossways to equalise
immediately through their best player striker Beasley.
Balti
went back in front with a fine individual effort from
Sargent who ran through the visitor’s defence before
slotting in the best goal of the match.
15
minutes from the end the lively Beasley put the league
leaders level. Crossways then nearly took the lead but
were thwarted by keeper Nott who once again made a fine
save.
Balti
attacked again and when Marco Nott put an
excellent long ball into the path of flying right winger
Ross Walker a defender was forced to bring him
down in the penalty box. Ben Stanton stepped up
and cooly placed his spot kick firmly into the net to
give the Balti a well-deserved victory.
For
Balti Craig Knock had an outstanding game in the
mid field holding role and played a real captain’s game.

Poundbury 1 Balti
House FC 0
The Balti
House FC found out how football can be a cruel game.
After dominating this Division Two encounter for 90% of
the match, they were caught on the break by Poundbury
who scored with only 3 minutes of the game left.
Balti
played fine attacking football in the first half with
Sean Williams and Craig De Marco outstanding
in mid-field and were unlucky, with the Poundbury keeper
making good saves from Williams, Paul Aston and
De Marco.
Strikers
Adam Sargent and Ross Walker were also causing plenty of
problems for the home defence with some good running up
front for Balti House.
For most
of the second half Balti continued to press for the
elusive goal but late in the game with everyone pushing
forward in attack Poundbury broke out and incredibly
scored. There was just time for one more Balti attack
from which Craig Knock went close with a shot on
the turn but once again the Poundbury glove man got a
hand to this and tipped the ball over the bar.
This just
wasn’t Balti’s day. Balti will probably play much worse
than this and win on another day.

Balti
House had much of the play in the first half of this
Division II clash but failed to take advantage of this
and only tested the Witchampton goal keeper with long
range efforts.
Witchampton started the second half brightly and
deservedly took the lead. But for a good save from
Balti goal keeper Andy Nott could have gone further
ahead a few minutes later.
The
rest of the half was spent with Balti attacking
relentlessly. Adam Sargent was unlucky not to put the
Balti level when his shot struck a post. It looked as
though Balti might taste defeat but with two minutes
remaining defender Andy Roper soared above the visitors
defence and with a fine header put Balti back on level
terms.

MATCH REVIEW Balti House FC
3 Puddletown 1
Both sides played open
attacking football in this Division II encounter at
Puddletown on a good playing surface which was a credit
to the home side.
The only surprise after the
first half of missed chances and goal mouth incidents
was that neither team had scored; the Balti front
players falling into the offside trap time and time
again. HT – 0-0.
The second half continued in
the same way as the first until mid-way through when
the excellent Paul Aston put the Balti in front after
collecting a pass from Jimmy Symonds and stroking the
ball passed the oncoming goalkeeper.
After this Puddletown
attacked and forced two good saves from Balti keeper
Andy Nott and a goal-line clearance from the hard
working Balti mid-fielder Ross Walker.
Puddletown eventually got on
level terms with 20 minutes remaining. Balti dominated
this last part of the game with Aston calling the tune
from mid-field with a lively Danny Sanders and Walker
producing some fine attacking moves down the Balti
right.
The harassed Puddletown
defence unluckily gave away a penalty when their centre
half Phil Walsh was adjudged to have handled a Symonds
centre. Despite protest from the home side Ben Stanton cooly converted from the spot to put Balti back in
front.
Balti continued to attack
and the two outstanding players on the day Aston and
Walker combined for Walker to score a well deserved
goal.
Craig de Marco back in the Balti starting line-up was also on form and turned in an
industrious performance in the Balti attack.

MATCH REVIEW
Balti House FC
2 Upwey & Broadwey 1
This
encounter at Redlands turned out to be a game of two
halves. The first period saw Upwey & Broadwey
attacking strongly but finding the Balti House defence
in which the Nott brothers goalkeeper Andy and centre
back Marco, were outstanding and very hard to penetrate.
Upwey
did take the lead after 30 minutes via the penalty spot
after a tripping offence in the box.
After
the interval the Balti midfield of Craig Knock,
Sean Williams, Paul Aston and Adam
Sargent worked hard to ensure their side produced
good attacking football.
This
was rewarded when striker Damian Evans put them
level with a fine individual effort, firing into the top
corner after a good run through the Upwey defence.
Balti
then scored again when Williams headed home a Craig
De Marco cross from the left.
Balti
were reduced to ten men for the last 20 minutes due to a
sending off, but held onto their lead.
